I assume most of us are completely screwed because companies are chomping at the bit to replace as many real people employees with AI as soon as they possibly can. I have no idea what I will do once AI moves me out of the industry.
Awe man, you see that is what I’m worried about too! They are trying to automate some tasks at work too. They say it’s all to help us out but I seriously doubt that.
In every way
I think so too. But when I think about it too much I think it’s gonna turn into that iRobot movie!
Not seeing anywhere where AI is currently able to make a big impact in supply chain roles. Don’t believe the hype.
I think some smaller things like generating reports and automation is making its way slowly but surely. I’m already seeing that type of stuff at my work.
I'm not sure how much AI will affect my job to be honest. My employer is definitely chomping at the bit to implement it, and they are in other areas, such as booking truckers and pricing. There is a lot in my role that I imagine can be automated but not sure it's a good idea, especially on the Customs compliance side. However, I do believe if my employer (very large 3pl) could replace everyone except the C suite with AI, they would in a heartbeat.
Intriguing! Yes, companies are always trying to cut costs everywhere with massive layoffs. I mean look at recent tech companies laying people off within the last few years!
