Started my career in SC 4 years ago. Workload doubled because of disruption, we lost half the team due to great resignation/burnout and can’t backfill because of hiring freeze. So yeah I guess I am starting to doubt if “I’m cut for it”
Sorry to hear about your situation, but it doesn't seem like it was a personal failure on your part. Life is unpredictable and unfair sometimes and regular people trying to do their best get screwed over for seemingly no reason. I wish you the best in bouncing back from this.
I feel you! I'm a supply chain management professional and sometimes I feel like I'm just barely holding on. It's a tough career, but it's also very rewarding. I think the key is finding a good company with a good culture and team. You need to be able to trust your team and know that they have your back.
I can understand why someone might get burned out in this field - it's a lot of work! But that doesn't mean that it's not a worthwhile career. I think it's important to find what you're passionate about, and if supply chain management isn't, then maybe it's time to move on. There are plenty of other careers out there that would be a good fit for you.
I can agree with your experience. I've been in Supply Chain for over 8 years and the last 3 years has been the most challenging and difficult. I had to come to terms it wasn't me but the organization not giving our team the right resources to be successfully.
