With the industry going through layoffs and some hiring slowdowns, I’m wondering if now is even a good time to ask for a meaningful adjustment either base, bonus, or equity. For those who’ve successfully negotiated raises (or promotions that came with better comp) in pharma or biotech: What’s worked best for you in terms of timing and approach? e.g., after performance review, end of year, tied to a big milestone?

I love Accenture and get top of range raises/bonuses, but I’m getting disheartened that I’ll never earn close to the level of compensation I’d get on the same trajectory at MBB or Big 4. I’ve explored

Can a company find out if you start to work for another company? Also, is it really a conflict of interest if you work for both companies in the same position, but the companies are in a different field (e.g. pharmaceutical and social media)?

I had a job interview for a role that I really want. The hiring manager scheduled me for an interview and did not show up. Emailed me an hour later stating that he got super busy and couldn’t attend, and would like to reschedule. This is a major red flag, but I can’t help but feel that I am missing out since this role pays 50% over what I currently make. Should I let the recruiter know? What’s your take on this?
