Would giving 1 week notice burn bridges?

I’m planning to give notice on November 1 with my last day being the 8th.

I have surgery the 12th and the new job starts the 18th.

I don’t want to give notice before the 1st to ensure that I have my insurance to cover the month of November for my surgery.

I was scheduled to be on FML 11/12-12/2. But I will backtrack it & just leave 11/8. I’ll still have some income that week since I’ll get PTO paid out.

Looking at full-time and application asks for expected salary and then expected total compensation as a number. How should I figure out the second? Health insurance, bonuses, life insurance, equity, PTO? I studied art, not math.

Is it okay to take leaves during probation in Infosys consulting? The offer letter does mention 4 leaves per quarter.

I'm joining during in October and thought I could take a week off for Christmas. Not sure if they have a concept of block leaves during Christmas though.

Hi everyone! I am working with my HR to improve our maternity/paternity leave policy. Currently I only get 2 weeks fully paid and then an additional 8-12 weeks at 60% pay (short term disability). Do you all feel that the Health Insurance choice is actually all the same? The coverage is absolutely copy and paste for Bronze to Platinum and the deductible/copay is very similar.
I just don’t understand why we have the illusion of “choice” if the offer is the same and it is really bad (in our case).
Going from $61 per paycheck for 2.5k deductible 75% copay to $500+ per paycheck with 500 deductible 85% copay.
