Would Littler or Jackson Lewis pay a signing bonus to an attorney with a few years experience? If so, roughly how much? (SoCal office)

Jackson Lewis - no (or very small). Littler - yes. Basically comparing Walmart to Whole Foods

funny

Yeah, I was thinking this comment was a serious burn for Whole Foods, but at the same time, WF is owned by Amazon, so not sure who should be more offended. In any event, the Walmart/Target analogy is a much better one.

I got a 10k signing bonus with JL. Not a major market like California and I was fairly junior at the time maybe 2-3 years experience. So you may be able to negotiate more

Good to know. Thanks for sharing!

I got $15k from JL as a 4th year in a non-major market.

Good to know. Thank you!

Anyone willing to share how much they are making as an Mri technologist in Chicago? I know downtown pays better then suburbs. I work in one of the big university hospitals and make 40 per hour. I have masters and 6 years of experience. I recently learned that a new grad who doesnt have his state boards yet has 39 per hour. A coworker experience of 20 years gets 50per hour. Not sure what to think of their weird pay scale. 🙂

Hi all,

I have cleared all the interviews for Walmart Global Tech and salary negotiations are also done. A month ago the recruiter said that they are waiting on some approvals and once it is done we will be issuing the offer letter but I haven't heard back any other update since then. Am I getting rejected or is it normal to be on hold without any update for a month at this stage?

Hello there! I currently work in billing at a medical office. I got my Bachelors in Psychology a few years ago but I couldn’t find a position that seemed like a good option for me that was well paying and fulfilling. I tried working as a tech at an Applied Behavior Analysis clinic but it wasn’t a good fit. I’m hesitant to try case management or social work because I worry I won’t like it but I want to use my degree in Psychology. Does anyone have any ideas for me?

Work to Billable Ratio First-year: interesting observation after about three months of work, I bill about 2/3 of my “working time.” I’ve compared my productive days because I’ve had some pretty intense outliers recently. On days where I bill 8+, the work to bill ratio is exactly about 66%. Work 12, bill 8. Work 18, bill 12. Have you noticed any interesting trends about your billables like this?

Highly Important Question: Puppies. I’ve been working at a smaller firm for the past 2 years and will be starting at a bigger firm (about 400 attorneys) in about a month or so. New firm is about 10 mins. from my house and has a billable requirement of at least 1,650. I’ve got an older pup and have been considering getting a younger pup to be his little brother for a while. Any experiences with having a puppy in mid-size law? Shouldn’t be as bad as “big law” but just wanted to hear thoughts.
