MBA makes sense if you're pivoting industry/function or geography or need to rise up the company ladder. In the latter case, a part time MBA or an executive MBA may do the trick.
Yea if it's free or parents pay for it. Otherwise it's a dumb financial idea.
We are becoming a paper qualification society. Where I work, every engineering manager and above has at least one master’s degree. Just recently, all but one of our newly promoted team leads has masters degree (engineering). A few of our project engineers has MBA. On our PM side, everyone is required to have PMP certification. Only one PM has an MBA and he is the highest paid PM who is not a lead or manager. All of our supplant chain managers has either masters or MBA. Even though I have no management aspiration, I went back to get my masters. Got the company to pay for it though. Took me 5 years to complete a 2 year program 😆😁😆
