Would you hire someone as a Senior who has been one for 15-20 years?

Their salary expectation might be higher than a typical senior, but if there is a need for a seasoned person who can crank out returns and wont fold under pressure, that's pretty valuable these days.

I would love to have someone on my team with that experience. Know they understand the role and what’s expected of them. Typically they work above their level and well worth the additional comp for their tenure and experience.

Amazingly I was force to start my tax company with a master in taxation tired of begging for a job with over 1000 clients, Lord thank you for that. And still overjoyed and overwhelmed. Thank you God !

This question tells me that you're skeptical of hiring an older worker and don't understand the benefits of doing so.

Sometimes, someone will find their true calling in a job and stay with it. They're content, understand the role, and contribute to the company. When this happens, these workers don't move and are not interested in climbing the ladder or getting more pay. If you're gifted with a candidate such as this, you're one of the lucky ones.

There are many experienced workers in the job market today that recruiters and hiring managers are ignoring. These recruiters and hiring managers need to be retrained for today's market. People with experience and 20+ years in the business are usually exceptional as individual contributors. They need less training, if any, are great team players by coaching others in their expertise, and are most likely financially secure so they don't need a huge salary.

Don't misjudge this type of worker. Instead, have a conversation with them. Ask them why they like the job and if they are interested in something more. You might be pleasantly surprised.

Yes, they have much to offer

I have a solid ground in AR/AP

Ours resigned and I'm not sure who's happier about it. Us or them. I'm sure there are times you could luck out and get more than you pay for, but that didn't happen in our case. We had a 57 year old underperformer who had no intention of working hard or paying attention to detail.

26 YO, make make roughly 130k TC and really wanting to get the new 2022 Accord Hybrid Touring trim. Great MPG and reliability. MSRP is just under 40k for the top trim. Good financial move or should I go with a lower trim such as the EXL or Sport which come in around the mid 20k-low 30k area.

How does a sole engineer at a company go about getting management to actually care how production machines run? I’m the only mechanical engineer at my company dealing with a half dozen cranky production managers who think that I can “work my magic” on a machine. It’s not magic, just ignorance about the machine actually works. How to I get a manager to stop caring about the end product long enough for me to actually teach them about their own machine?

Which offer should I accept? Currently staff 2 at big 4 in Tax with CPA license. I want to leave tax ASAP. Both are public companies +1B in revenue and same salary. Offer 1 - staff revenue accountant so reading contracts, speaking with the sales team and legal team, a lot of work at the end of the months to close books and reconcile transactions to make sure we are ASC 606 compliant. This track usually leads to director of revenue. Offer 2 - internal audit staff so SOX and compliance projects.
