I can never ever seem to stop thinking about work and have given myself too many anxiety attacks just thinking about everything coming up for busy season already. Any advice for how to manage?

Stop taking your job so seriously... we arent savings lives so there’s nothing important worth stressing about. Stick up for yourself if a manager makes unrealistic requests. I see too many people take on too much work and end up getting stressed.

Same boat. I think if it’s affecting your mental health you should seriously think about quitting. I have an end date in mind and my care levels have dropped a lot and am now less anxious?

Also, exercise, chocolate, candles, baths, music, if it works for you? Sometimes it helps me when I feel my heart rate accelerate

Quit.

Go for a walk outside or do something else to get your mind off of it. Busy seasons come and go, you will make it through. Everyone makes it to the ither side, maybe tired and worn out but still in one piece nonetheless. Take it a day and a week at a time, and before you know it, you will be done.

Also please seek treatment for anxiety and get evaluated for OCD. Life changer.

I just spoke with a software architect that went back to school to learn software engineering after law school because it was more lucrative and had less hours. He’s worked his way up and has the skills and authority to work 6:30am-10am and gets to work remotely. We discussed that results/outputs is better than billable time like in law and public accounting. Yet, his parents and others would view him as “lazy” but he does his job and makes a fantastic living. Time>Money and Results>Hours

How is the Business Operations (BO) team at ZS?
Particularly at AC level.

I have couple of more questions:
1. WLB as I have heard is pretty pathetic at ZS. Is it same in BO team as well?
2. Salary range for the AC role? (I have 3+ years of experience post MBA, before MBA 0 years, transitioning from big 4)
3. Any on-site opportunities?
4. How are other perks at the organisation? (Apart from fixed pay)

For those who exited to PE deals / investment core teams, what’s your focus area when you were in consulting? Deal Strategy, Commercial DD, Growth Strategy, etc.? Do you like the WLB in PE?

Ex-consultant now in marketing. Used to be an avid follower here and got great insights on companies when trying to exit consulting so thought I’d try here for advice. Outside of FAANG, what are good large CA-based tech companies that provide good pay, WLB, and culture? DD has great people and WLB, but pay is low and you’re not given the tools and resources to succeed + truly make an impact. Google and Apple are ideal but need backups. Like is Salesforce still good? A company along those lines.

I have an interview with Korn Ferry for an associate principal role and am curious about others’ experiences have been with work-life balance here. Also, I have an idea of what I should be compensated in this type of role, but any insights on how they pay compared to others would be helpful. Are you traveling during the pandemic or have client interactions been virtual? Lastly, if you are a consultant here, are you on billable hours? My current consulting role is not - so this would be new.

So far the only reason I’ve been told no is that “if you do then everyone will want to and then no one will be in the office” … how can I convince them that I work better out of the office and get this freedom & mental break for myself?

I have been in my current job for 1 year now as a booking coordinator for a logistics company. When I started I had no idea of what my workload would be, now I noticed that my coworkers took the opportunity to pass most of their job to me. I’m burned out, can barely take break and end my days totally drained and exhausted, also the same people is harassing me with questions like: “why are you working that slow?” Or the “quality of your job is questionable because…..” continue in comments

Has anyone here renegotiated their salary after a short time being in a role? I accepted a position and I like what I do but I realize that the workload requires a lot to see success and I feel a bit burned out already with my 40 hours/week and occasional extra 30 minutes to an hour a day.

I am stuck between putting in my time and showing my value and asking for an increase to validate doing so to avoid job hopping after a year or so.

Hi, Can someone please connect me to the recruiter/HR?
There is a Test Engineer (Automation) opening in Google which I see on LinkedIn. It seems relevant. Applied a few times already but I don't think submitting resume is helping here.
Also, I hear HR at Google helps candidate prepare for the interview as well.
Any help would be appreciated. TIA 😊
