Yes, although you're probably more miserable
Your raise will depend on your performance, firm performance, and salary bands. If you come in as a C at 120K, your raise will be much smaller than a C at 95K (assuming same rating). Whether you're a campus hire or experienced hire has nothing to do with it.
D2 good logic except you don't know what the incoming salary is. You are assuming it is at a premium.
Agreed, solely based on that assumption
Typically we see people promoted into a role get lower starting salary than people hired into a role; that is general market practice (people promoted into role are generally paid below market, hires are more closely aligned w market). It's not necessarily a huge difference but an internal promotion at the individual contributor levels are generally 10%-20% bump; get recruited by another firm for similar level switch you'd be more likely to see 15%-30%, broadly speaking
Yes. But disagree that you will be miserable. I am in S&O and love it.
And basically 2% a year for the next three #longtermvision
D2- That is not true.
D1, I disagree. Your annual raises are proportionate to the difference between your current salary and the highest earners in your band. When you come in on an inflated salary, the room for you to get a raise is a lot lower
Depends on if you like what you're doing now. You can always ask for a bump based on market.
D2 why do you say that? What is a common salary increase at year end in S&O?
If you're an experienced hire it'll be a lot lower than someone who grew within the firm
The raises aren't that big, think 3-5% depending on rating
EY - what practice are you in?
I wouldn't do it for the money because in 2-3 years you'll be at the same place. Why's salary bumps are much higher
OP- what was your competency in PI?
