Did FP&A for 5 years prior to business school and it was so terribly dull. Every month was the same routine and I never felt very challenged.
I'm sure you'll be able to swing back if you wanted to, so might make sense to try it out.

Why not wait until senior? If your an associate it's your first or second year in TAS so there's still much to learn. If you do got to FP&A see if they will pay for a part time MBA. I've heard of that being offered in packages
Rising Star
At your career stage you should be looking for growth opportunities and learning from good mentors. Does the CFO seem like someone who’s strategic and is part of a dynamic leadership team that’s preparing for the next decade? Is there evidence that the company is moving along the digitalization curve? Are they innovative in what they do?
If you’re at a decent audit or consulting firm you may have better learning opportunities where you are. I just know from my own experience (as a client and in my current firm) and from friends’ experiences that there are a lot of sub-standard CFOs in this world that would be terrible to work for. Make sure this person isn’t one of them.
