Would you rather: spend a day writing headlines that all get rejected, or edit 50 headlines that are already terrible?

Write headlines that get rejected. At least that way I'm able to flex a little creative muscle. Your hands are tied when you have to revise someone else's work.

I feel the same! Rejections sting, but at least they’re my words being torn apart. Editing someone else’s chaos feels like trying to clean glitter off carpet.

I'll take the 50 headlines challenge. Challenges my creativity while also not having to feel the ouch of my own ideas being rejected.

That’s a fair point. Editing bad headlines can feel oddly satisfying when you manage to polish them up

I would rather do anything tha edit

Honestly, mood. Editing the uneditable should count as endurance training at this point.

Rejects sting less — editing garbage feels like swimming in sewage with a red pen

That might be the most accurate (and disgusting) description I have heard. You just summed up every group edit session ever.

Currently a Wealth Advisor for Citi but I honestly hate it here with a passion it’s the worst company I’ve ever worked for in my life and I’ve been in Wealth Management in the banking channel for over a decade. Series 7, Series 63, Life, CFP, ChFC, and soon to have my MBA with a focus in Mergers & Acquisitions. I’m look to enter another area of Finance at this point instead of starting over somewhere else from scratch, but not sure what direction to go. Interested in Investment Banking or M&A.

Hi everyone, I have a quick question that’s kind of silly. I work at a pretty small company leading marketing. My title is technically Marketing Lead but I want to put Head of Marketing on my LinkedIn etc. I think of these titles as totally interchangeable—I just like the way the second one reads better. I know titles don’t really matter, but I’m battling a little bit of imposter syndrome.

Need career advice. Trying to break into a finance role, preferably an Analsyt role but I have no transferable experience. I worked as a mortgage loan officer (which is sales) for 2 years after college, but since mortgage is such a niche industry, no hard skills transfer and have no relevant undergrad internships unfortunately. I know I can essentially get any sales job I want in finance IE: financial advisor etc. but don’t want to be stuck in sales forever. Any advice?

The argument that climate change is not man-made has been disproven by science over and over again, yet many people believe that the global crisis is either not real, not of our making, or both, in part because the news media deliberately chooses not to talk about it because it doesn't sell enough.

"Don't Look Up" is as real as it can be.

One of my direct reports has asked about going part time. They currently manage special reports in a bi-weekly publication, working closely with sales, freelance writers, and an internal designer. Job duties are primarily project management and editing/proofreading. As the first read on articles, they need to have an understanding of the material (business/regulation). Has anyone had experience with job sharing in this type of a role?
