Would you use a government job as J2?

I’ve made myself an invaluable part of our team, but I know other Account Sups in my office with less experience + a higher salary. I believe in merit-based raises, but is it ever ok to mention this?

Where do I steer my career? I’m an introvert and someone who suffers from PTSD from my time on active duty. Currently have J1 as current employer used The work one for my BC. I looked at Equifax/ The work one to see if J2 uses that service, fortunately they don’t.
Question - if J2 runs a BC for J1 and Finds out I am still employed isn’t that a red flag?
