Insight on Venable?
Hi Fishes
I want to share very bad experience I had at Mastercard
I was given offer by Mastercard in month of Dec The hike was less but looking at brand & other perks I accepted the offer & was looking forward to joining them.I got few offers & I went back to them for sole purpose of renegotiating CTC, to have a industry standard hike. They didn't reverted back for 2-3 days & just dropped a mail that they are revoking initial offer as well on grounds that they didn't like i gave other interview

I'll be joining tw as UI Lead, soon.
I'm a javascript/react developer since inception of my career & haven't worked much on CICD/JENKINS and similar technology.
Should I be worried that as a lead I don't know these and will it affect by job security?
Ps- I'm good at UI,js, react etc.
Thoughtworks
Experts please help.

It is probably because client experience is a top priority for us... that means that, on top of providing the best recommendation, we put huge effort on transferring capabilities to clients so the transformation is sustainable in the long run. Even a generalist BA at McKinsey must learn how to coach clients - it is 50-70% of the focus of our trainings.
Also, the reason I said light on substance is because Agile coaching != Agile transformation; agile transformation is a much deeper topic that needs a lot of experience to be good at where as anyone can do agile coaching. FFS, first year associates at PwC do agile coaching and it's basically PMO work so please don't get upptity with me about how McK focuses so much on client coaching.
I was on an agile transformation project that we sold because the client was unhappy w mck’s recommendation. Turns out they recommended a PMO 😂
Well duh, what do you expect from a firm that is famous for of it's strategy group; I expect all of digital is light on substance.
We advise 80-90% of F500, an increasing number of them on Digital topics. Saying that we are ‘light on substance’ means you know nothing on how McK works
Light on substance = light on knowledge base, Im not faulting McK for not knowing as much as someone who works in tech because your digital group is still in it's early stages and thus probably only know about the 'top layers' of tech where as the Big4 and other tech consulting firms have a much deeper/broader understanding of digital topics.
Calling BS on McK1. I asked my interviewer to describe her projects. You guys do something called "Agile @ Edge", where you go coach the clients' selected teams for 1-2 months and then leave them with tools (🙄) to run themselves after (also, the service is terrible and not organic, but that's a different conversation). I asked her what sort of tools - she said user story templates, roles, ceremonies, etc., Basically, stuff which can be Googled online. She said 50-75% of McK Agile pipeline is "Agile @ Edge" projects. That's not transformation. That's coaching. Which is done by our PMO group rarely because K's PMO group is also too expensive to do coaching.
@McK3, I'm sorry, my PC dictionary is not up to date; okay, let me replace the word 'uppity', with 'holier than thou'. I'm sorry for my ignorance for not knowing that the term uppity has racial connotations and I will be sure to be more mindful before I use the word uppity in public again.
Ugh, same thing happened to me. She asked me about some listings on my resume. I described a project where we designed a product centric organization. Her next question was - so, how did you coach the product owners on Agile? I was like "wtf".
What IS the difference between agile transformation and agile coaching?
Also, at your next interview, cant you just pull out some stories about how you coached / mentored / taught literally any client or team member?
I told him that I do transformations, but he kept asking me about coaching since that’s the only thing he knew. There are dime a dozen firms who do coaching these days. Nobody comes to EY explicitly for coaching - it maybe part of our Transformation efforts, but we don’t have dedicated coaches afaik. Even if it’s ok to have coaches, it was totally the wrong interviewer - interviewee pairing.
Quote from an McK person I met: 'McK has no fucking clue how to do tech implementation and should stick to what it knows best - strategy. We try to outsource tech projects and subcontract, but even that is a shitshow'
@mck Anyone know the contact for this position?
Just because you screwed the interview, doesn’t mean you find problems with the recruitment process
A) it’s not called agile @ edge. B) you should be very careful with the term uppity. It has racial connotations that you’re clearly not aware of
Sensitive much EM1? I dont think OP or me or anyone else is saying we screwed the interview. I am still going through mine, but chances are that I will turn it down if I get it. Though it hurts to turn down McK, one of my dream firms in the past, it turns out that I am doing much better projects at K. However, I am interviewing with BCG and Deloitte as well and they are both far better in terms of Agile/DevOps related work.
Ah lest you all forget in order to use sticks and stones against words one must redefine words as violence upon ones person. They now break potential bones therefore I can pre-break yours now.
Were both of the interviews with McKinsey?
What is your background?
