Yesterday I had a pre-onboarding call with the hiring manager and we were discussing abt the bands and designations.
It seems that the bands L3-1, L3-2 are salary bands and have nothing to do with your experience at all. Further if someone who is hving 15+ yrs of exp and has been offered a Lead position is wondering what that position is - He needs to manage and inspire a team of people ( might be juniors or seniors having 20+ yrs of exp ).
Next designation will also be a Lead only.

I’m worried I made a huge mistake lateraling. I was really unhappy at my last firm and made a move for slightly better QOL and better work. But it’s so hard to start remotely and get to know new personalities. Does anyone have any tips or positive stories to share?

Junior associate here, should I ask for more money if my firm is about 10-15 percent less hours but about 30 percent less pay? I’ve been on the bench with J1 for about 3 months. I was worried that because I couldn’t find another project, I would get laid off so I found J2, which pays more, is very meeting heavy, but I really like. I’ve kept J1 because I’m still on the bench doing absolutely nothing and getting paid. Thinking about looking for a role on a project with J1 that’s not along my career path but will allow for me to do work with no calls so that I can manage both jobs. It’s hard to trust the partners/leadership when they want us to return to office as being better when we increase offshoring? Also, the pressure on billable hours when all that really matters is how much our fixed labor costs vs. how much we can bill (which is usually fixed fee or at least a range) and the fixed labor costs of offshoring is significantly cheaper so the hours don’t matter. Am I mistaken by this viewpoint?
