Yesterday I was subjected to a field sobriety test by a colleague who pulled me over, but I refused. I know I wasn't intoxicated, and my coworker was just fault-finding. Unfortunately, she brought this to my bosses' attention. I'm told that chemical testing is now top of the list. I feel that several lines have been crossed here. Any legal advice would be greatly appreciated.

Is there a charge in your state for refusing a blood/breath/urine test?

Don't know about the legality for you, but absolutely you need to address this dynamic with your coworker. I suggest talking to them directly if there's any underlying confusions or problems between you, being on your watch, and in general having your eye out. But in terms of doing what's required, you've got to be above board.

What state are you in? And why did you refuse in the first place if you weren't intoxicated? I think your colleague will use this against you.

You should not have refused. You were all clear so there's nothing to hide or be afraid of. You should talk to them privately and explain the situation.

Follow up post to my last post…My husband was laid off from the company where I also work. I am feeling really isolated / depressed about working and moving forward. I’m also getting to a stage where I’m really sad that people haven’t reached out to either my husband or myself to send well wishes or provide support. It’s like they don’t know what to say or I make them feel awkward so they don’t bother…I’m trying to focus on a few that have been supportive but it’s hard…Any words of advice? 😞
