hey, I’m in need of some advice! Hopefully, I haven’t screwed myself over..so I get a call for a job and they initially offer $62k with a $1000 sign on bonus, I countered at 65k bc I knew I deserve more pay but I was afraid to actually ask for much more than that. They verbally accepted my counter offer but have yet to send me a written offer I can sign. I completed research on the position and salary for my area and realized I aimed low. I countered again at 72k. Was I wrong?

Hey everyone! So I’ve been working as a sales engineer since January after graduating in December. But I just recently found an opportunity to jump into a entry level software engineering role that I am thinking about pursuing. Should I do it or should i stick with being a sales engineer? I would initially be taking a 5-10k pay cut but I’m thinking it would pay off in the long run. Is it worth it? What would you do if you were in my shoes?

Went to an annual checkup with new doctor which I found through ZocDoc.

ZocDoc claimed office/he were in network. Office also clearly stated in-network / advertises Aetna coverage.

Claim came back as out of network now facing a $700 bill for a check up that I didn’t even need (learned nothing useful). Anything I can do?

Here’s an out of the box question: How do you get out of the insurance industry? I’ve heard that the longer you stay in, the harder it is to get out. Are there any other industries I can transition to?

Pre-partner level (AP / Principal) at MBB — have failed the partner promotion and being asked to stick around for at least another 6-12 months as the firm believes in my potential (but of course no guarantee to make it). Gutted for not having been promoted despite the strong traction built.
Have an offer from tier-2 (S&, EYP) to join as a partner with significant pay bump.

Hi, I received an offer from a tech company last week. I went ahead and accepted because I didn’t have any competing offers. However, another company now offered me significantly more. I didn’t have this offer when I accepted the previous one. I still like the tech company. Is it ok to ask them to match the new offer after accepting? I didn’t know that I would even receive another offer as the other company had not responded back at all. The difference is $70k b/w the two offers. Thanks
