Just had my annual review, and guess what came up again? Attention to detail. No matter how hard I try, I always seem to miss something, and it’s disheartening to see it highlighted as a flaw rather than a difference in how my brain works. I wish performance reviews took neurodiversity into account instead of penalizing us for things that aren’t easily ‘fixed.’ I bring creativity, problem-solving, and big-picture thinking to the table—why isn’t that weighted just as heavily? Has anyone successfully advocated for a more ADHD-friendly review process?

i’ve been posting video over in the WorkLife Bowl about the need for Neurological Safety™ and curious what my fellow ADHD friends think about the idea.

to feel neurologically safe, our spaces, cultures, and experiences must have all three of these ingredients

1. sensory supportive
2. cognitively kind
3. emotionally engaging

check out the videos for more details. i’d love to hear from you.

I thrive under the pressure of looming deadlines—it's like the adrenaline rush helps snap my ADHD brain into focus. But, it's also incredibly exhausting. Just last week, I pushed through a massive report in the last 48 hours before the deadline, working late into the night. While I finished on time, the aftermath left me drained for days.
