Mostly venting, but open to advice.

I have been on adhd meds for over 20 years. And I have been on Vyvance for about 10 years. It works very well for me, no mood side effects or crashes like I experienced on Adderall.

Well I had to change insurance and to get preauth (to continue taking a medicine I have taken for 10 years) I have to show I have tried like 3 other medicines! This is so dumb. There are already so many hoops to jump through to get treatment and medication, and now this. Ugh.

From what I understand, there are now generic versions of Vyvanse, which should be cheap.

like

The generic is $80-100 a month out of pocket with goodRx, depending on the pharmacy (much better than full price but not exactly cheap). The insurance sees the name brand and generic the same as far as coverage.

like

That’s unreasonable. I’d ask your doctor to submit a rebuttal being this is entirely insurance bs

like

My insurance makes me try two drugs first and I’ve tried two before so I might try vyv eventually but rt now I scrapped it all for weight loss drugs since I can’t tell if concerta does anything or not. My Dr always asks me if adhd drugs or helping and I don’t think they are. Maybe it’s because I like the way I am and can’t break the cycle. Not sure.

Hi! I’m a young professional with less than 2 years experience, started a new job 1.5 months ago. I’m having quite some difficulties on balancing out my response time to tasks. While I act incredibly fast if not immediately with some, I sometimes take 1-2 weeks with couple of hours worthy ones. Sometimes I ignore, procrastinate or simply other more urgent things come up to increase the delay. Also I work with 3 managers in my team which doesn’t help with expectations nor guidance. Any tips pls?

I was diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 12. My family did not opt to put me on medication. I illegally discovered Adderall in college. Worked incredible. Got diagnosed after college & after having been fired from my first job. Passed the CPA exams on Adderall. Went off of it again. I do everything well at my job except for attention to detail within my excel files & emails. Will taking ADHD medication really fix this? Does anyone else have this issue and was it resolved by taking medication?
