I have tried them ALL.
Many task management systems aren't designed for ND brains, so many of them didn't stick for me.
What worked for me is lists, preferably hand written, to engage my memory differently, and the Pomodoro Method to gamify tedious tasks.
I also put time boxes on my schedule dedicated for certain tasks. I use it as a visual remover if what I'm supposed to be writing on when I get distracted (by Fishbowl, lol).

I bought a bunch (so many!) of small, strong magnets, that look and function like bulletin board pins. But they don't cause any damage like pins or sticky stuff.
I use them to plonk reminders against any and all magnetic surfaces. I need to pay a bill? Plonk it on the fridge. Need to take out trash later? Plonk a fresh bag on something. Reminders always right in my face, along with the materials.
A lot of the door & wall frames have metal, so my house has begun to look like a crazy person lives here (and I do lol). Fortunately I WFH so I can do similarly with work stuff.
I use a combination of the daily Passion Planner and my department uses Basecamp, which is pretty bare bones, but it sends reminders. Plus the dragging and organizing tasks from campaigns as well as little one off asks really helps me see what has to get done, and lets me confidently say no or set expectations when people call/email asking for more.
If you do like writing things down, give the passion planner a look. The woman who started it is ND and she did it to help herself remember and reach her goals. I like the daily set up because I have a spread for each day (each book is 3 months) and I have areas for lists, notes, my schedule and drawing/more notes.
I post my to do lists and calendar as a widget on my phone. I also like posting important things on the fridge and I always have my “important pile” of mail.
I currently use a kanban style board (trello) + calendar (google). I fill my calendar with tasks from the board, before moving them to "in-progress".
This tells me what to focus on, but I still end up getting distracted during the tasks, and postponing them.
For keeping focus on a task, I use a widget clock that reminds me to focus & put my phone in work mode to avoid getting into social media apps etc.
Paper and pen for me while I’m talking on the phone. Can’t trust pc (or user) to not hit a wrong key and lose my work. I type all of my verbiage and notes and have them all around my monitor/desk to read verbatim. I tweak it just enough to match my tone and not feel too scripted. So when I answer a call and get caught off-guard, it’s a great back-up and alleviates my anxiety or worry. Sometimes you can get kicked out of your software altogether and have to wing it. Now I can look right at my script and continue my work and enter it later when everything boots up. If I have projects where I need to document my call info, Name, dob, member ID, situations and responses, I make an excel spreadsheet and update it as I go. Or print it out and write the info in the categories.
A thing that has been super helpful for me is getting a smartwatch, and only letting it sync notifications from select apps on my phone, namely my TODO/task list app, and things like mindfulness/breathing reminders. Then I put my phone away.
NO notifications from text, email, or god forbid social media.
I have tried multiple task apps, and which one was not as important as separating it from my phone.
I think I am going to look into some of these things listed in this thread because I have really been struggling lately. To do lists don't seem to be doing it for me and writing things on my calendar only works if I actually look at said calendar on a daily basis.
