Bain & Company Fishes, I wonder if you have suggestion on office selection, I am finishing my dual degree(advanced degree and applying for post MBA level job) next year and now applying for consulting roles in the states. I have never been to the states and will only arrive on campus in Fall. I am keen on Seattle and SF offices but I have no affiliation or experience there. Any suggestions? Taking deep breaths. Also I have noticed I have anxiety when my thyroid levels have changed
This, get your thyroid levels and bloodwork checked. Rule out the physical symptoms etc, then move to the mental/emotional.
Friend of mine took a turn for the worse ‘mentally’ 3ish years ago, turned out to be hypothyroidism. Completely changed the roommate/person he was - made him anxious/depressed, angry, and hated things he loved 3 months prior.
Attack this like any other problem, line item by line item. Symptom by symptom and you’ll get it figured out. Good luck and you’ve got this!

I have a severe case of general anxiety disorder. My biggest fear is to have an anxiety attack when speaking in front of large groups of people. It's like the anxiety knocks down my IQ by 20 points during an attack, thereby getting in the way of my ability to think and articulate myself.
To minimize this risk, I meditate, over prepare, and do a lot of CBT and ACT.
I have been diagnosed with General Anxiety Disorder. diet, exercise and sleep all help.
Psychedelics have been clinically proven to significantly reduce and completely eliminate anxiety

Go talk to a professional and get to root cause. It’s a fear and until you can face the cause it isn’t going away. Not easy, but good luck.
When anxious about anything I often ask myself.. what’s the worst that could happen.. and usually it’s something I can live with which atleast reduces the anxiety a little bit.
Lists. If it's written down I know I won't forget it, which helps me then stop obsessing about it.
Exercise has been the most consistent thing for me.
