I really love this set of questions, I’ve been considering shifting my current interview style to these questions - I think they really give you an idea of who this person would be within the work setting. But the questions almost feel too deep for a recruiter to ask. What would you think if a recruiter took a different path and asked these questions instead of the usual ones?

Whom should we contact if we didn't receive any further information .
I had interview and offer discussion with CTS 6 months back but didn't receive any letter and even this time after interview and hr discussion its been 4 days but no further communication.

Although Amazon has instituted a hiring freeze and layoffs are probably on their way, I went through the loop for a security engineer position at AWS. Before I attended the final interviews, Amazon placed the hiring freeze and called me to ask if I wanted to go ahead or cancel my application. I decided do go ahead Right now I'm waiting for their response and the position I applied to changed from "under consideration" to "no longer under consideration". Thoughts?

This isnt Law... I started my 13 year career in Security in Corrections. Corrections isnt the job for everyone depending on what Life stage you're in at the time. I spent 5 years in State Corrections before hanging up the half n half can I grew to love while serving behind bars as an officer
I recommended doing some research concerning the agencies you are interested in working for. Learn their history, mission statement, values etc. I would also learn as much as I could about the primary and secondary issues facing the agencies. Perhaps reach out to current and former employees to learn why some of them are sticking it out while others are leaving the profession in droves. Also important to research crime rates and various other criminal statistics for the areas you are applying. Review prospective agency reviews on social media, Indeed, Glassdoor, Monster, etc. Look for an agency that actively rewards and retains qualified officers in good standing. Most agencies (out of desperation) have resorted to tactics mostly used by the U.S. Military. Decent sign-on bonuses and educational incentives for new hires or lateral transfers; but most agencies do very little to retain the men and women that actually know how to do the job and have been doing it successfully with out complaint for decades. Unlike criminals who are oftentimes arrested and immediately released; if you make an honest mistake (non criminal) as an officer, it could cost you your career. The truth is, the facts do not matter in criminal cases; nor do they matter when an officer is accused of misconduct. It makes no difference if the accuser is a lifelong thug with a rap sheet spanning 30 years. The public will receive his accusations as fact. They will instinctively believe the criminal; who is now the victim and all officers (across the entire country) are the villains. Do yourself a favor and research the agencies staffing plan. How many officers are they short. At the end of the day, each officer vacancy makes our country less safe. More importantly, they make each community, officer, and criminal less safe; which leads to more stress, less time off, less back-up, more workers comp claims; and ultimately, more work for the officers they do have. Most large agencies cannot even respond to calls for assistance in real time. Instead they stack calls (because of poor staffing levels). Meaning they are handed a list of calls for assistance they were unable to answer the day or two before. So, not only are you dealing with hostile criminals, daily; you are also dealing with in some cases…. Hostile citizen’s who support the police but are upset because they dialed 911 a day or two ago and nobody showed up. Lastly, I suggest going on a few ride-alongs wherever available. You will see for yourself how the officers interact with the public and each other; It is also a great way to get to know the culture and surrounding community before completing the lengthy hiring process.
Despite the current anti-police climate, the sheer number of vacancies nationwide bodes well for anyone in search of opportunities for training and advancement in law enforcement. Could be the perfect opportunity for an ambitious person. I do not see law enforcement as a long term career choice for most people. In fact, police officers have a life expectancy of 66 years; and Corrections Officers have a life expectancy of 55 years old.
