Hi folks
I wanted a suggestion from you all guys, I have given interview of PS and got a call for offer after interview and I denied the offer as I have received an offer from some other company, I denied coz I was not doing offer shopping or piling offers, he tried to convince me and when I didn't get convinced he said to blacklist me from PS. What to do?

Another data point: F50 Senior manager now working 15-20 hours a week
Why would you even consider moving what is wrong with you op! 15hrs a week????
Chief
Not if I hated it. That's a pretty rough standard of living change. You'd have to really want to move to SF for that.

That amount of money will not help you like a place you already hate.
Use the offer to negotiate your current salary. Or use your current salary to justify them upping to 325 or more to make up for COL difference.
Current situation, it doesn’t make sense. You’ll be paying $22K in state tax. So that’s a ~50K delta living in an insanely HCOL city
Maybe negotiate for remote work with them? As I said, its not a very attractive proposition right now.

Nope
Good for you! May I ask YOE and speciality?

Why is this even a thought? I would pass so fast

Absolutely not x2

Thought I'd hate DC, really come to love it.
75K is no small amount, if you end up hating SF you can always move
Chief
$50K when you add tax
No
Go for it. Value the intangibles like excitement in mid life more than money… end of the day, at 50 you want to live the last few years of excitement
I would not. 200k in Dallas will go far longer than 275k in SF. You’re going to miss your house, your space, cheaper food, entertainment everything. And you already said you didn’t like it.. Dont move for money
Absolutely not
Rising Star
Nah. I feel like your SoL rn in Dallas would be better than on $275k in SF

If you hate San Fran why would you move there????
I’m not sure why you need additional validation, but there is almost zero upside in pursing that SF offer in your circumstances, all else being equal, and from the average Fishbowl users perspective. If you need additional emphasis, please consider if you’d enjoy or regret the decision to pursue 3-12 months after starting if you did pursue the SF opportunity.
