Rising Star
I’m a 2019 grad and went in house 3 years ago. Best decision I’ve made for my career. It’s just a different path than being at a firm and some people get bored, but I’ve always found what I do interesting and it’s much more geared toward a well balanced life.
Rising Star
Hardly.
I’m in a similar boat - 2019 grad also in RE. Always thought our exit options were pretty shabby compared to general corporate. Was it hard finding an in house gig?

Best decision for my health, family, and overall lifestyle.
Good/really good decision for my career. No I wont make "Partner" but I have more flexibility. I can go into a business role (director/VP level), back to a firm, or relax as the number 2 or 3 lawyer. As a firm lawyer, it becomes slightly more difficult to go in-house the more senior you are at the firm for a plethora of reasons
Neutral/negative decision regarding pay. I may not make as much as law firms, but I do far far better than most people and truly cannot complain. Total comp with retirement matching/contributions by the company and stocks considered, I think many in-house lawyers can clear 250K+ routinely, and $350k+ is possible.
Overall, no complaints and NO REGRETS (except I should have done it sooner)
(In your practice area, you may want to pick-up a separate practice strategically so you are not locked-in. I am a healthcare/pharma lawyer. So i picked up Privacy and now AI. It compliments and gives me flexibility.)
