2nd on the upgrade list with 5 first class seats available, and my flight just got delayed a half hour. Delta needs to stop taking their sweet ass time with this upgrade so I can get in the lounge

Since when did upgrades get you lounge access?

like

Don't think first class upgrades get you lounge access. It's only for Diamonds.

You can ask them at the counter to clear you. If there are that many seats, it should be no problem. I've asked for and received that before.

Lounges also are hugely disappointing. (Delta diamond here)

One of the reasons I want to transition from industry to consulting (tier 1) is that I get frustrated when I have to collaborate with mediocre people. My assumption is that Tier 1 consulting firms hire really sharp people and if I can get in, I’ll be collaborating with folks on top of their game (not expecting much from clients). I’m aware there are personal aspects I need to work on like my mindset, patience etc etc, but I just get so frustrated with blatant stupidity.
