Kinda hard to be a Walmart greeter remotely
Chief
Exactly what my creative writing major Walmart greeter said too
No. It might not fit with your priorities but completely separate issue from the job itself.
A job can be 100% on site and also have great pay, benefits, perks, bosses, co-workers, advancement opportunity, and work life balance.
Had an opportunity at Citadel that I think im going to turn down solely because it's 5 days a week in office.
Hard pass.
What about a company where the recruiter shared that the start time is 8 AM??
That’s a red flag and a sign they will not treat you as an adult who has autonomy and can manage a schedule to ensure outputs meet expectations
I don't mind 5 days in the office if it's under 1 hour travel and most importantly I am compensated for it. Since covid, our overall wages are far below what they were. Travel costs (public transport, fuell, parking etc) and lunch are disproportionately high and effectively not covered by our salary. You want me to take a pay cut AND limit my flexibility without anything in return?
Yeah, just lunch and transit is an extra $30/day
MAJOR? Be serious
Serious. Not even giving Friday wfh is nuts

Asking to work and be on time even bigger redder flag.

Assuming adults have to be in office to be working is pretty asinine.
These companies are finding way to cut down the headcounts!
