All depends on your work tbh. Rising up the ranks isn’t automatic and the same for all. Campaigns produced, awards won, client skills etc all count towards the pace of your career. Your position should be fair though and hopefully you’re not operating way above your position. Many top creatives are slow bloomers, fast titles aren’t always the measure of success. Good luck.
Definitely “senior”, but deciding to follow the CD pipeline is different for everyone. Some people really want that and expedite the process and get it by 7-8, or others just want to make cool work and stay IC for a long time. Salary, who knows anymore haha.
Also 7 years as a creative. There’s no defined “milestone” because it’s subjective. Everyone is different and has different goals. Some are CDs in their third year, others stay at the individual contributor level their entire careers. It’s all a matter of what your personal goals and preferences are.
Acknowledging that titles are pretty inflated and don’t matter to many…
But I would say after seven years you should be a senior or ACD, in an agency setting.

Sr. Art Director, Design Director. If you’re in a major city like NY, LA, you should be making around $150K-$180K.

Senior seems typical
