A few weeks ago I had an initial screening call with a company local to me for a specialized position I know I'm a great fit for. After a week I emailed the recruiter politely asking for an update, she said she was still trying to line something up with the hiring manager. It's now been another week and a half since then. Would it be a good idea to go there in person and try to talk to the hiring manager or should I just keep waiting?

I’m interviewing with a startup and the range has a 40k difference from the lowest to highest point. It’s also pre-seed and comes with equity, and health, 401k benefits. It’s a director of sales role so I would eventually be recruiting and managing a team along with building the processes and strategy. What would you consider a fair compensation package? If they offer me something on the lower end of the range, is it still appropriate to counter with an offer that is over their stated range?

What’s the best way to turn down a 2nd interview? During the 1st interview, I learned that the compensation for the role is not within the range that I am looking for and requires 400 more billable hours a year than what I bill now.
