My LM is so keen on small small things, not related to coding but documentation and all. Atleast once in a week I'm committing mistakes on small documentation points n he is stressing on same. Are there any chances that my probation will not be extended or is it a clue for me from my LM. He is Looping his LM and asking questions/clarifications.
Should I ask him directly or can be ignored or need to try outside. Please suggest Barclays

Sounds like typical cop out, ignore and move on

I would say if the feedback was not detailed enough that’s a reflection on PEI and your friend probably did not dive into the details of the story and like you said only stayed at 5 points. The PEI is a true deep dive into a single story so if you only have 5 things to say that’s gonna end pretty quick vs the typical 15-20 mins the PEI usually takes.

The interviewer isn’t going to tell you you’re missing something. A couple things could be going on here. Either the interviewer asked on open question to give them a chance to add to the answer and they didn’t, or they didn’t have the chance because the case was running slow because it was taking longer than usual to come up with or communicate the answers (e.g. if they were slow on the math)
Are you the friend?
They 100% are😂
I’ve heard you tend to get very generic feedback primarily when
1. The interviewer doesn’t want to have detailed conversation or
2. There was an issue with your PEI which as far as I know they can’t comment on
Cool, thank you.
If you have missed major portions of an answer, (e.g., talk about a profitability question by only focusing on cost levers and completely ignore revenue levers), then your answer is not “detailed enough”. The interviewer makes the judgement on if they want to dig deeper, but unlikely to point out big gaps in thinking
Unsure how feedback is given at McK, but that response seems kind of generic for such a large mistake.
In the instance you mentioned, I would have expected feedback along the lines of “candidate missed key components of case review”. But, I’m an outsider and don’t know how things are done within the firm.
Which part of the case was this in reference to? The initial framework? The brainstorm?
Hi OP, can you give the details of the feedback?
