Faced this weird behaviour from Optum recently. Gave interview for Data Scientist position. HR said feedback is positive. Asked for documents. It's been month now since I have shared the documents. I have no update on the offer. Today I called HR, she called me back saying the position is on hold due to recalibration in team, She has shared interview feedbacks to other teams and will get back to me in couple of days. I am clueless now. My last working day is approaching (In a month). Any Help??

Many recruiters do this - they don’t want to waste your time or their time if the salary band is higher than their opps - not to mention the firm’s time who will engage in the recruitment process just to end up with you being out of range. I tend to flip the conversation and have them tell me the range - after all, in most of these situations you are also a “client” for the recruiter

This is normal! Sounds like a third party recruiter. These are usually very open about sharing what the range is. They get paid based on if you accept the offer or not, so they are incentivized to make sure you are okay with the range.
Additionally, they are sometimes paid as a % of the salary, so they typically won't give you a lower range, but rather the actual range.
Completely makes sense. Nothing more annoying than when we aren’t aligned on salary
Ask them up front for salary and decide whether to move forward
