AARGGHH! I have created a huge mess. In the process of trying to be excited about school i decided to change my room around. I am not sure it was a great idea! Can you say CHAOS? I am to the point that I'm going to start in one area and finish it, and then move to the next area. My Hubz came in and started doing some repairs on a shelf so that is adding to the mess. I'll post the final results later. Have you started preparing your classroom for school yet? Do you ever change things around?

We can’t have classroom management without taking care of ourselves first. Rest. Even if it’s for 2 minutes. We close our eyes and reset.

What are your favorite collaboration tools for students to use in the classroom?

Does anyone have experience working for Connections Academy or another virtual academy? I am very interested in teaching from home, but most virtual jobs I have reviewed still require you to come to an office/ school building. I want to know what it is like, specifically the work load. Would you say more or less than public? How does classroom management, amount of grading, and freedom of curriculum differ?

Is anyone else returning to fully in person learning? We have been hybrid/synchronous since September, which has been very hard and not very effective. They want us to have all Kindergarten students come back in March. I want to stop live teaching over google meet all day while also teaching my students in person at the same time, but there is not enough space in my classroom for safe distancing, not enough space for movement, and sitting at a desk all day is not appropriate for K kids!

After teaching 14 years teaching 3rd grade, 2 years teaching 1st grade, and 1 year teaching 2nd grade, I’ll be starting a new venture as a 6th grade Math teaching. I need ideas for decorating my classroom and teaching the curriculum. Help!

What are your opinions on going deskless in the classroom?

I can manage my classroom better if I don’t respond to emails outside of office hours. This gives my mind a break and by consequence refreshes me for the next day. It also sets a boundary.
