Leave. Life is too damn short.
If you are likely to leave anyway, then you may want to take this opportunity to stand up for yourself first. Respectful conflict is uncomfortable but it's a skill that's a life skill for you to develop. It may result in a better working relationship or this attorney is just arrogant and unreachable. Either way, you have maximized your potential professional growth in a challenging situation. They hired you because they believed you were up to the work.
Apply, apply, apply! Line up your next gig and then get out of there!
Have you proven that you are competent and know what you’re doing through getting tasks done and putting out good work product?
Not that I’m making excuses for his disrespect or condescension but if he’s an older attorney sometimes they require respect and trust to be earned through showing competence and hard work.
Also have you given any push back to the attorney themself as far as standing up for yourself? Sometimes you have to demand the respect you want otherwise you’ll be walked on.
Are you sure it is not your work product?
Exactly @ A2, especially not after just one month's work.
I don’t know of a rule book where a boss has to be nice. I’ve had many condescending and mean bosses. It happens at jobs some times. Doesn’t make it ok. But if you quit, same thing might happen at another place.
