Hi Sharks, I am asked to sign the offer letter. It's kind of an agreement between me and the company for accepting the offer and compensation numbers. Of course It doesn't have statments like I have to join the company on signing this. My question is that 1. If I get a better offer can I go and ask them to revise the offer? 2. Can I decide not to join the company? Will there be any legal consequences? Have you ever been asked to sign the offer? Boeing Tata Consultancy Wipro Capgemini Cognizant

The more senior you get the wider the range, especially if there’s no up or out. You’ll have bottom range for people promoted straight out of undergrad and top end for SMEs coming from industry with decades of experience.
Check out Glassdoor to understand more and hopefully recruiter can give you more realistic range based on your CV
How do you live on that in NYC?
$250k base for strategy is mid point
MCOL for a top level SM is typically around$250 + other comp, from what I hear.
Typically 5 year progression as a SM in path to MD or Director in management consulting. Year 1 typically in 200-220 range with incremental bumps over the next 4 years.
Average would be in the 230-250 range salary only. Strategy would be 10%ish higher.
It really depends what practice are trying to get into... strategy is at the top end of the range and operations at the bottom (very few onshore roles). If you are in consulting or technology you will be in the middle of the pack…
Helpful, thank you
300k base for a SM at Accenture? Wtf i'm a PL and make like 220 at BCG.
Not better enough to make the difference. Considering moving to Accenture but concerned about it being viewed as a downgrade on the resume
Was offered 230k in CA
Thanks
240 base - MCOL, not strategy
