Hi All,
I just got a call from KLA Company's HR that I have cleared final round and there is a HR round today evening for salary discussions.
The role is for Frontend Developer(Angular).
I have 3.1 years of experience.
CCTC - 13.2 LPA (all fixed)
Holding offer of 17.5 from service company in Pune.
Does anybody have any reviews for this company for the s/w department?
How much should I ask?
What are the other ways I can negotiate? Like do they provide RSUs?
KLA Corporation
Thank you

If your agency/team is hiring, I’d love to connect!
Do you have an annual review coming up in 2 months? If so you may want to wait to see what happens with that. If you’re doing a great job they could be planning a promotion and raise for you. Curious what you think being underpaid is and what you think you could get elsewhere?
Thank you very much, I appreciate the feedback and support! Definitely hoping to run toward something that seems right instead of hopping on the first opportunity to come along. Fingers crossed for a pleasant surprise!
Understand your situation, but I’d suggest reframing your position as you look for new opportunities. The first rule of interviewing is never to say anything negative about your current situation. You seem to know what salary you are looking for and you should be honest about that in your search and interview process - but focus on what you bring to the table and your positive experiences- not the negative ones. If I interviewed someone who spent time talking about how underpaid they were I would likely pass on hiring them over someone who sold me on why they are a fit.
Absolutely, it’s not something I would talk about in an interview, I was hoping more so to drum up any insights I could on agencies that have treated their employees well during Covid-19 and pay an industry standard/living wage. Also just really looking to see if there are people/managers in the industry who see underpaying people as a serious issue and not a sustainable business model.
I also want to ensure I’m not running from one bad environment into another, so wondering if you have any go to recommendations or interview questions for someone looking to do that? I’ve found that people usually want to hear a reason for why you’re leaving your agency, and so far I’ve gone with a pretty generic “I’m looking to take the next step in my career and would like to gain more experience working with x clients.” During covid I feel it’s also been appropriate to say something like “Leadership hasn’t handled Covid communications very well and I’m looking to join a company with more transparency.” Let me know if this sounds alright? Because again, I’m not looking to jump right into an agency that’s going to be just as bad in terms of toxicity so I do feel it’s appropriate to ask questions and make it clear that I want to join a company that values its employees. It’s a tough industry so I know it’s not easy to come by, but I know they’re out there!
I cannot stress enough not to criticize your current employer in an interview. If you want to learn about the new companies transparency and culture you should ask about them but not tied back to a negative from where you are now. I’ve interviewed tons of people for multiple rolls and anyone negative is immediately ruled out as a flag that they could be difficult to manage or won’t be team players.
That’s really interesting to me and good to know. I’ve always felt pressured to provide a good and compelling reason for why I’m trying to leave my current employer during interviews (I had assumed just to make sure I’m not a flighty/unloyal employee). So I have tended to provide a surface level/not very critical reason why. Definitely helpful to know I’m not supposed to do that at all even if the interviewer asks lol.
Reach out to me. My corporate/financial comms focused firm is hiring.
