Thought this was interesting. Across 160 teams of researchers, just about all failed to make good life outcome predictions on things like GPA, evictions, layoffs, and others. Data followed 4.5k families across 15 years, with 13k features (varied over time). Haven't looked at it directly yet, but will be turning the docs and data inside out... In the meantime, authors claim this as showing the limits of ML. Oh, and it's published in PNAS, so you know there's some big publication energy there.

Getting fired from job isn’t always a bad thing. It let you reevaluate and gives time to take care of yourself and your thoughts. I have three offers and I’m starting one soon and making double money. I’m not saying because it’s the best thing that happened to me because I have job offered, it’s best that I am thinking about myself, priorities, things I like to do etc. I addition I got to travel and hopefully after few months I am off to start my own business God willing. So anyone who got laid off, take that as a positivily and do the things you thought of doing and couldn’t go, whether be travelling, spending time with family, start a charity or a business. You are not alone, when one door closes, God opens 10 doors for you. Stay positive and have faith. Help is on the way.
Any advice for someone facing the same fate? What did you do and was it easy to find new work?
Preach. Glad to hear you’re on your feet and doing better things.

Good luck in your future endeavors!!! Keeping you in my prayers🙏🙏
