How do I get over social anxiety?
Got a random email from a supposed Amazon recruiter for a SDE position (which is not at all a fit). The email is amazon.com domain and there are no red flags in the body but it doesn't feel like an Amazon recruiter due to the tacky signature, etc. Has anyone seen this kind of cold-calling from FAANG recruiter?

I've been thinking about this too. Top of my list would be to work in Kenya or Nigeria for a nonprofit that focuses on education or economic development. Would also be interested in startups and social enterprises in the region.
Why are all of these basics going to Africa? 🤦🏽♂️
Literally every single one of my BCG and Bain ex-classmates and some Deloitte classmates as well have made a stop to Africa before b school... what's the catch?
I should probably tone down the cynicism
Learn a language. Read a series of books that you've wanted to read. Drive around to explore your new city (won't have time in bschool). Trying starting a random business that you've had an interest in (doesn't have to be profitable or even have a chance but gives good practice for doing it in the future and lessons to learn when in bschool)
God, I wish I could go back to the time before bschool but after quitting my job.

@D1, well, in general, several developing countries in Africa hold tremendous promise but also have very deep rooted social, economic, and political issues that prevent them from achieving even faster growth and increases in standard of living. That's true of other countries as well, particularly in Asia, but comparatively speaking, I think there's more opportunity in Africa to be really entrepreneurial or to have great social impact than in other parts of the world. Hence the interest from people you know.
