I have zero interest in most industries, can’t stand most clients after 6 months and have no interest in going beyond 40 hours (and even getting to 40 without stabbing out my eyes is difficult). Would much rather be fishing, tinkering or spending time with kids/family than doing the bidding of others and helping some VP get his next Rolex. I am here for the money to support the lifestyle and hopefully retire with a solid base of cash.

Anyone else feel me? Does anyone else really not dig the work but “stick around?"

Didn’t see that one coming.

Yep. I hate this work. It seems pointless. We’re not saving lives, even though some people think we are. My plan is to save aggressively for the next 5 years (I’m 25) and then quit, and work on my passion...whatever that is.

I’m new on the job search and still employed. I’m looking to grow further in the logistics industry. While I look for work, it’s a bit discouraging seeing how hundreds of people apply for positions I see on LinkedIn. I still apply because you never know and AI plays a huge effect in selections. Should I even bother applying when there are more than 100 applications?

So I had been working as medical interpreter up to the early part of this year. Today, during an interview, the Director with whom I was interviewing genuinely urged me to consider pursuing a career as a PA or even attempt to go to medical school. I had considered it in passing before but today was about the third or fourth time that someone had earnestly nudged me in that direction. Has anyone here made such a career pivot before? I love working in healthcare, there’s nothing like it.

I work at KPMG and was told that I will not be promoted (from senior associate 2 to 3), but received pay rise as someone who was promoted. I am so proud person that immediately after knowing that I will not be promoted, I wrote resignation. What is your action plan in this case? Will you resign? And I am not afraid of being unemployed, I have some cash for such case.

How do I be a decent manager to a coworker who's upset I've been promoted twice in two years and they haven't? We started out as coworkers, became decent friends after a few good moments, but went back to simply coworkers after they flubbed a few projects and I had to step in to clean up. I'm non-confrontational but year-end reviews are right around the corner and I'm worried about having to act professional to someone who I got too close with and who now hates me.

Hi, I am a PhD student and I have recently started preparing for consulting. I have gone through basics of framework and have watched few YouTube videos. I am at the point where I am seeing diminishing returns by studying more books. Anyone willing to help or are there people in the same boat? Would love to connect with potential study/case buddies! TIA!

I tried asking this in my own bowl with no responses, so seeing if other consultants have run into this situation. I’m on parental leave, I got an offer for another firm, great opportunity and pay. How does one go about a resignation mid-leave when you would start the new job before the leave ends? Two weeks notice or just say I am not returning effective the day of the new job? Any things to consider besides potentially repaying the employer healthcare premium?
