It’s a legacy requirement you have to achieve to progress in most cases (EA credential for tax) but is otherwise irrelevant to career progress.
Really depends on what kind of jobs you’re looking for but usually the cpa or some relevant certification is a pre requisite. Your actual experience is going to matter just as much as it did before.
And did you pass the exams or do you have your license? If you just passed the exams and don’t have the experience to be licensed yet then I would think it would matter even less in the context of a job.
CPA is still a very important credential. You’ll just be up against a lot of others with the same. Experience and what you’ve been able to do show more than passing a test.
The CPA is a requirement for many jobs, like having a high school diploma, or a bachelors degree, or an MBA, etc… It does not get you a job and is not rare enough to make you truly stand out. There are tons of CPAs, so you still have to prove you’re the CPA they should hire.
This is a really rough job market to be looking for a job in. CPA or not, everyone is struggling to find roles. Getting your CPA doesn't necessarily translate to automatically landing a role. I would suggest networking and trying to get a referral if I were you.
Agreed it’s easier now to get your CPA - you need to also network in order to land a job
