After retirement i took a pt job in a local hospital which i loved. My work product was impecable, and i did way more than my job description. However when i asked for a raise or tb considered for a more interesting position i repeatedly got denied. I never said no. My last request was to take all my vacation time at once. I covered my workload. Still no. So i gave 2 weeks and resigned my boss said this was highly unprofessional… and he never even said bye. Did i handle this inappropriately

Does anyone think it’s weird that my firm is bending over backwards to try to keep a first year staff from leaving the firm after she was rated a 2 this year. But now she’s trying to leave and they keep trying to push her to stay saying she can be a partner in 8-9 years and laying it all out in detail. The issue is they laid off other staff (all but her) so maybe that’s it? Find it very odd.

Help,I started a new career n the events industry and I think I have to quit! The person I report to is so disorganized and there are no other managers in the office to direct day to day operations of our department. On day 2 I was asked to go to a job site and perform a 12 hour day without any training, safety equipment or tools. On day 3 I was asked back to site to do general labor! I ended cutting my hand on an exacto knife and there was no first aid! Is this normal?

I did not get a raise when I took the job because it was technically a demotion ( I was a team leader at a contact center).
