AI Resume Assessment - What do you think of the AI resume assessment tools? I see the roles on LinkedIn where I'm a STRONG match and I have JobRight, which recommends a bunch of changes and gives a bad score. This is at the same exact time on the screen. I understand that it focuses on specific roles and tweaks are mostly minor, but come on. There are only so many ways to say what I've done and while one says I'm great, the other says I'm hopeless.

I would apply anyway. Throw enough resumes out there and you increase your odds. Better than taking no action.

Totally feel this – you line up a job you're literally a perfect fit for, then those AI resume tools come in and say you're not even close. I swear, every week I get a “strong match” from LinkedIn or ZipRecruiter, but then JobRight or even Resume Worded pops up with a laundry list of missing keywords that don't even show up in the job post half the time. It's like, how many ways am I supposed to say "managed X project" before it just starts sounding fake?

Honestly, I've tried bouncing my resume through a few different scanners like ResumeJudge, Jobscan, and SkillSyncer to see how they read things. Most of them catch different stuff, so I've basically just started picking the suggestions that actually make sense for the job – nothing worse than bloating up with random buzzwords just to make the tool happy.

Have you noticed if one tool's feedback actually gets you more interviews? Sometimes I wonder if it's better to pick one and stick with it, or just write for the human at the end of the pipeline. Curious what job titles you're aiming for, some roles are way more sensitive to those keyword scans than others.

McKinsey & Company Does level and/or office matter for referrals at McKinsey & Company? A friend is willing to refer at the Associate level in my target office though I did not get any traction w/ the referral last year. I'm a Veteran so I also recognize there may be a resume translation issue despite the prior version getting me interviews with BCG and Bain. I have updated the resume since - though still wondering if there's anything else I can do to strengthen my case. Thank you in advance for any advice.

Please, I need your opinion on this. I have 6 years of experience as a software developer and just finished my masters degree in data science. Now I am looking for a job here in the US. I went through the hiring process with this company and finally got an offer. They offered 88k/year and I responded opening a negotiation. They emailed me back saying that I am no longer in this process anymore with no further explanation and in Thanksgiving day. Is that normal?that email really got me very upset

Asking advice from a recruiter: I’ve been recently laid off :( This week I took some time to reflect, talk to friends and family. I want to be more thoughtful on my next move and although interviewing right away would be logical I feel I want to take a break and some time for myself. Take a month or two off working and use that time to plan thoughtfully on my next move. Would having that gap in my resume be an issue when I go back to the job market?

Should I leave my first permanent job as a team leader of 4 DPs in a FMCG business (only been there for 4 months) to join a huge Tech business for a 12months contract?

They offer me 60% more money than my permanent role. Circa 2000 dollars every month in my pocket

However, I am worried if I accept the tech role and I do not become permanent I will be looking again for a job in 12-24 months and my CV won't be showing a managerial position. Won't be showing any progress.

I got a call from the Google recruiter about my L7 em interview Google She said I did overwhelmingly good on all interviews except one had mixed feedback on a system design. No surprise because it was not a good interview. The recruiter said i had a choice to go to hiring committee, give referrals they could call about my system design or take another system design interview. I’m not confident about the system design because of the bad experience I had with the previous interviewer. What should I do?
