All. In the process of exiting consulting and have numerous interviews lined up. What are some diplomatic and interview-friendly reasons that people use to describe why they’re leaving consulting. For me personally is about finding a healthy balance and not working like a maniac - I don’t care to be a partner so why kill myself. Depending on the interview I will be honest but at the same time I don’t want my reasons to drive assumptions on their end. In any case - any advice is appreciated!

Does Google value FAANG experience over consulting? Say if a person is trying to get into Google from Apple, will it be considered easier?

Current SC with ~3YOE looking for a jump to tech. Just wrapped up interviews with AWS non-tech role slotted at L4. Current base is $115k. Can anyone provide insight into the band for L4 at AWS? Out of curiosity, what percent of your work/analyses are Excel based? And what other softwares do you use the most (Tableau, PowerBI, Alteryx, etc.)

My work has been 90% Excel based 10% Access/SQL based and friends at other firms seem to be using way more advanced programs.

Anyone a manager? I’m recently diagnosed (26F) and I can’t help but beat myself up everytime I fall short of my to do list. Makes me feel like a huge disservice to my team. I’ve been trying vitamin D and working out, but it makes my “highs” and “low” SO extreme. The simplest things are so complex in my mind.

If anyone feels similar, how do you manage these feelings? I’m personally considering switching to an individual contributor role, but can’t help but feel like a disappointment if I do.
