I respond using “will review and revert” all the time. I do international transactional work. I just do it because it is stupid but makes it look like I’m doing something.
Um, hardly. I only ever heard “revert” from foreign associates.
I hear revert used with transactional work but have never heard it used in litigation.
I hear it in transactions referring to drafts.
Chief
I'll get back to you soon. Feel better now?
Revert? Never seen this used before. Pls fix.
You need to put a trigger warning on this comment. "Pls fix" gives me hives.
Definitely common in transactional correspondence to mean “get back to you” as well as in transactional editing to mean “return text to its state before an edit” (akin to “stet”).
I only ever see revert in emails in FCPA investigations (of employees of foreign companies under investigation).
