Any Probate attorneys? My mother just passed away and I have zero experience in this area. There is an original will naming me the agent though I have been unable to read it as the secondary agent won’t hand it over. Can I start probate without it? She died in Idaho which requires formal probate for any estate valued over $100k. By value does that mean after debts are repaid? How does one know the value of the estate before they file? Without the letters testamentary I can’t access …cont’d

So so sorry for your loss. As executor you should be entitled to retain Idaho estate counsel that will be covered by the estate. That counsel will be able to handle filing and, if necessary, asking the court to compel the secondary agent to produce these documents.

… the accounts to figure out her debts. Sorry if this is rambling and imprecise, it just happened on Saturday.

Not Idaho, but if this were to happen in NY, you would hire an estate attorney to commence probate and file an attestation that the Will exists but you cannot produce the original due to it being withheld by the secondary named party. The Surrogate Court would lead the process from there in terms of getting the Will produced (although everything is always fact specific in probate litigation)

I don’t have any advice but I’m so sorry for your loss. Take care of yourself ❤️

Lot of fear in the market right now (understandably so). The situation in Ukraine is awful and the potential consequences are scary to think about.

There are some who want to sell in fear of their investments falling further. Do not do this. Hold and continue to buy more. Continue your 401k contributions, and add whatever you can afford after every paycheck into your brokerage. Those who sold the covid crash were often late buying back in.

This is the dip you're worried about.
