Am I the only who thinks that once you drive an EV, you're never going to want to go back to a gas car again? I bought my Tesla Model Y three years ago and I absolutely love the way it drives and really just everything about it. The other day I had to drive my friend's car to pick up his daughter from music class, and my oh my, that's not the kind of car I ever want to drive again.

Economy car < EV < Luxury < sports car

I surely have. I regularly track my car and am very familiar with the bills.

Had an EV and hated it.

Model 3 -> M3 and I will NEVER look back!

I think an EV can be great if you have a longer commute and need FSD or something.

But for us enthusiasts - it’s sacrilegious.

GIVE ME THE NOISE, the transmission, the turbo spool, the intakes, the vibrations! ALL OF IT!

Because you 2 have brains!!

I’d take an Ecoboost Mustang over an EV

I was a passenger in a Model Y once and that was enough to know I never want to drive one.

I have a model Y and I was a passenger of one and WTF I couldn’t wait to get out of the car..

A lot of ppl can’t drive it properly. I never touch my brakes while driving since regen braking does it and that’s how it should be done. Got motion sickness within 5 mins

like

So you don't really like *driving* then huh

EVs are the quartz watch of the car world - they’re technically better at everything but lacking a soul.

I’ll take the roar of a big V8 or a twin turbo six over an EV any day, maintenance and fuel costs be damned.

likeuplifting

I love EVs, not gonna lie. But I also see the charm in a good old gas car so I don't relate to the 'never driving one again' emotion, but yes, the way EVs can be handled is no match to normal cars.

like

Unfortunately, the route from my home to my office/daycare/grocery store is track-free.

There’s also no free gas at my office, but there is a free charger.

Depends on what you want from your car. EVs are much more likely to make their passengers carsick and don’t transmit much emotion into driving them.

I only have limited test driving and riding with friends experience with EV's but I was fairly impressed. I've had some coworkers use teslas as rentals for a work vehicle for a week or 2 and they described it as an awful experience. I'm in sales and we drive over 2000 miles/month. The charging time was the biggest complaint.

I want an ev but I need 500 miles of range at least and can't afford the evs that offer that

Yea unless we are saying EV or Corolla then no

Yea unless we are saying EV or Corolla then no…

Yes

Yes and it sucks. I looooove everything about gas cars—the feel the sound the shifting—-but man they’re slow and have more than one second of maintenance in five years and cost double for the same 0-60

911 Carrera S vs GTS

I really want to do a low key spec on my next car but it’s almost impossible to spec the GTS without black wheels/accents turning it into a more aggressive looking car.

Thoughts on if the GTS in a 7 speed is more engaging than the S enough to justify the compromise in wheel selection?
