American Airlines - I'm confused. I'm have gold status - flight departs in 3 hours -it's under 500 miles - I'm number 1 n the waitlist for an upgrade. When I search the flight says I could buy up to 4 business seats? Why wouldn't I be confirmed upgraded? Thought that happens 24 hours before?

I really want to live in Asia for a year at least before I have to settle down and start a family. I’m not getting younger but don’t want to be reckless with my career.
