Yesssss... AND I AM GOING TO RANT ABOUT IT! 🤣
Worked in an all female environment in the event industry (company specialized in tech events), it was freaking awful. I once had a manager on a different team call me privately to talk about how my teammate was straight up lying about me behind my back to the CEO.
The lying teammate delivered my pink slip a month or two later... Which was coincidentally a week after she lectured me for *not* lying to a client. 🤦♀️
There was a lot of that sort of stuff happening... Lectures if we didn't report well on "happiness" scores, loads of gossip, corporate personality tests were used as weapons, frequently changing schedules... Just miserable.
In fact, it made me change careers! I am much happier in software and have never had any sort of issues with women I've worked with in the tech industry.
As a resolution, the gal who fired me also got fired a while later. I've also had the company try to woo me to hire them-- even paid for my lunch on one occasion :')
Not that I experienced - but a girl in work used to bully another female colleague. Every encounter they had (even in front of colleagues) always made everyone uncomfortable. So unprofessional. The girl who bullied her, then give me the cold shoulder in work for being friendly to the poor girl - who since left. Kind of glad I’m the only female in my team for those reasons lol 😂
I have faced this. She was my boss and made my life so difficult at office.
How did you get through it? Did you leave or did she leave?
I’ve been fortunate that the other female engineers were always professional and just doing their work. Have has some issues with insecure men though
