Analytics&research with hedge fund front office role - what would be a good range for someone with ~5 years of experience? NYC market

Been seeing a lot of positions for business architects lately. What’s the expected salary range for a position in Chicago?

Has anyone ever received a higher than expected bonus? Maybe I’m just scarred from Deloitte but I always assume that I’ll get the minimum possible variable comp (and I’m usually right).

Ethical question : I had an offer from Company A and they filed a H1b transfer which has been approved. I was going to join them mid Jan but just received another offer which is a higher level in both title and dollars. I did not actively seek out for the second offer. Would it be a big deal to reject the first offer now ?

1. Business travels are mostly for management peoples

Thoughts on “special” salary grades. I just found out the VP I was offered is not a grade 12 like most comparable roles (verified). Also not an 11, but an 11A. Slightly higher than an 11, a good bit lower than a 12. All due to the fact that it’s a leap from my current position. Why should that matter…..shouldn’t it pay what it should pay if I am selected, rather that curving down towards my current rate?
