I took a project manager role and I HATE it. Take product owner my friend, this is a easy one. Product is way more interesting and desirable IMO and anyone who says otherwise is biased and or delusional.

Product = strategy, design, customer research, directing development choices
Project = managing process, chasing people for status updates, mediating childish team conflicts

For people answering on this thread, what is the difference between a product owner and product manager?
Product Manager is the CEO of the product generally with P&L responsibilities. You'll organise product research, you'll survey customers for new features and for featured to retire. You'll work with Sales and Marketing teams on promoting and selling the product. You'll work with operations to guide support and servicing.
You'll work with Sales, Finance, and billing to determine the pricing strategy.
You'll work with Legal to determine contacts and clauses.
You'll work with other product managers on bundling products.
It's generally a non-project related role, but often gets called into projects when no Product Owner role exists; additional responsibilities and duties.
