I’m sure this subject has been talked to death but here goes: At what point is it time to throw in the towel and try a new line of work. I’m a 53 year old Creative who has worked at several hot shops. (DDB and Crispin). I’ve been a CD and went back to ACD/Writer to be more affordable and a better mentor than some of the 30 year olds they’re considering. (Some have bitten but never pulled the trigger on an offer). I did in-house pre-Covid and gone 75 interviews with nada over 2 years. Any advice?

After years on the agency side, I’ve realized that I no longer am prioritizing my portfolio anymore. The blockbuster productions are too just stressful, and they simply aren’t worth it.

I have an interview with a couple senior executives tomorrow. I feel like I don't have a lot to offer, but am definitely interested in the role! Is there anything I can say that will make them feel like I'm the right fit for this position?

I’m currently on the bench and had a senior colleague reach out to me about assisting with a work item. I volunteered to help (but I can’t charge my time). There was (to my knowledge) an entire team of individuals working on the project up until last week so it seemed to me that my help wasn’t really needed. The project is spinning down and they’ve lessened the team members, but I’m still helping out with tasks. I don’t mind helping at all, but it seems weird. Am I thinking into this too much?

Let’s talk about how Salesforce put me through 6 rounds of interviews spanning 6.5 weeks with a panel presentation, last being final VP round and hiring manager constantly viewing my LinkedIn & adding me , to just got a generic automated email from recruiter about how they are not moving on with my candidacy. Waste of time, never again! F*** these companies with a complete broken recruiting system.

Struggling to determine which firms can help with PM roles AND I'm struggling to get the ones I do find to respond to me. It may have something to do where I'm at in my career - 15+ years of PM experience & director-level roles at my last 2 companies - so more exec level but not quite C-Suite. Have tons of one-off recruiters hitting me up on LinkedIn about contract PM roles but that's not what I want.

Don’t know why we get a brief in this industry if at the end of the day it’s going to look, say and be the same thing as other pieces done before. The only difference: new photos, some copy and annos.
