Hi Fishes
I would like to know about the client interviews (especially in data science or machine learning roles).
Are these interviews tough?
Are these interviews meant to assess technical knowledge? For example, what is binomial distribution, what are different data structures in python, ml algorithms etc.
I would request each of the nagarrians to share their thoughts irrespective of the technologies you are working.
I am thankful to you for taking time and helping me out.
Nagarro

Clearly the client doesn’t value the calls or your time ask them if it makes more sense for you to connect biweekly monthly or even not at all only as needed. Make sure that you are documenting that your client is not having these calls I’ve seen clients blame agencies for not keeping them accountable put everything in writing.
Maybe conference calls aren’t your client’s best way of communicating. I had a client like this — she preferred emails over calls because she wasn’t super great at managing her schedule.
Does your client use a messaging platform you have access to? I can toggle my teams between my agencies and the clients teams apps so I’ve found that helps for the ones that are usually canceling meetings last minute, they can message me quicker than email. And if they’re already communicating with their colleagues on it, they’re looking at it! I also have clients who prefer texting haha because they’re in meetings, maybe even sharing their screens, but have updates or questions for me that can’t always wait.
I’ve found it’s just easiest to adapt to their availability because they rely on me to get my side of their job done that they don’t have time for (pharma marketing). The clients that are used to getting/request agendas or a quick topic list before our weekly meeting usually decline the invite when the list reminds them if they aren’t able to join.
I’ve had clients like this. Honestly, we just continued to bill them and my Account Executive let them know we were billing for missed meetings them so they started to show up. I also sent them emails with what I planned to cover in the meetings so they knew what to expect. If they missed it, I emailed them any items pending. And was clear that without they’re input we could not move forward with any work. So, in a nutshell, meeting agendas, meeting follow up, and charging them so there was a consequence.
