Received an offer as Engagement Director from Salesforce (CSG, pre sales, L9). Great benefits package, 40% increase in total comp and better WLB.
I do love the people in my practice and current client, but career trajectory has stalled after taking parental leave earlier this year and (yet another) change in leadership.
Realistically, making to Director is 2-3 years away and will require sacrificing time with my family that I am not prepared to give up.
Should I stay or should I go?

Generally for series A or B, no you can't get severance and signing bonuses are very hard. At that stage it is all about the runway and cash burn. They don't want to lay out extra extra cash. The severance probably wouldn't be useful because if they fail, they won't be able to pay it out
The biggest things I looked at when joining a start up were cap table and what happens you your equity if acquired. Often the investors are more senior than the employees, you if you arent successful growing 5x and they wind down the company through a acquisition, only the investors get their money back. The other thing to look at is what happens to invested equity if the company is squires and you are let go. Good startups will accelerate vesting in that case.
I wouldn't worry too much. Generally at a start up things are so busy and shoe string, they can't fire someone and restart with a new hire.
Everything is about getting over the line to success and the 10x growth. If you 3% instead of 1% of the company, sure they may begrudge that extra 2% but most start ups are on a knifes edge. They aren't going to want even a small chance of going to zero or losing out on the next round at 10x the current round over that 2%. If they are going to fire you, they are going to do it because it isn't working out, not because you are sitting on a little extra equity.
